How very interesting.  Seems there were people who came
into the country as indentured servants to work long enough
to pay for their passage over and for their keep while they
were earning their passage.  But age 12 (or 10 or 11) seems
rather young for that and Nancy's last name was different
from either of the two adults.  Wonder what that whole story
was and what the demand was upon the woman when she
appeared?  Was she given an appointed time to reclaim Nancy?
